Green Building Council Finland

Green Building Council Finland (FIGBC) is a non-profit association founded in 2010 that gathers and refines sustainability know-how in the building and construction sector. FIGBC’s network consists of over 300 member organizations and other active partners.

FIGBC’s core functions regarding the built environment are advancing sustainable development practices, providing knowledge and know-how, activating dialogue and conversation, and connecting Finland to the international Green Building Council network.

FIGBC’s vision is that by 2035 Finnish built environment is a fundamental part of the solution to climate change and functions according to the principals of circular economy. The association’s strategic goals for the years 2021-2023 include urging over 50 % of the Finnish professional real-estate owners to set a goal for carbon-neutral energy use, produce in cooperation with the built environment sector a carbon neutrality action plan for the building and construction sector and ensuring that in all major built environment projects low-carbon solutions and circularity are considered.

ISCOWA

ISCOWA, The International Society for the Environmental and Technical Implications of Construction with Alternative Material.

ISCOWA aims to promote and coordinate information exchange regarding construction with industrial by-products within the Circular Economy concept. It is an international, non-profit organization, which was formed in 1992.

The main activity of ISCOWA is the arrangement of the WASCON conferences. WASCON is the reference international conference on the use of alternative materials in construction. Conference name WASCON stands for International Conference on the Environmental and Technical Implications on Construction with Alternative Materials.

In between WASCON conferences, ISCOWA arranges also other seminars and events similar to this Construction goes Circular-conference.
